Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Solution Architect – Fiber & Structured Cabling for AI data centers. You will design high-density fiber and cabling solutions, translate requirements into scalable physical designs, BOMs, and installation documents, and lead technical reviews with customers and partners.

Ideal candidates bring deep data center fiber expertise, GPU cluster connectivity, and experience with InfiniBand/Ethernet fabrics, enabling repeatable designs across large deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing fiber, structured cabling, or physical network infrastructure in data centers.
• Experience with AI data center connectivity, including high-density fiber architectures and GPU cluster connectivity.
• Knowledge of single-mode/multimode fiber, MPO/MTP, LC, polarity, and high-density fiber management.
• Experience with data center interconnects, rack-level connectivity, and large-scale fiber deployment.
• Ability to interpret designs, rack elevations, port maps, and customer technical standards.
• Experience creating BOMs, cable matrices, connectivity schedules, and design packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and architecture for fiber and structured cabling solutions supporting AI data center programs.
• Translate requirements into physical layer designs, standards, BOMs, and implementation requirements.
• Design high-density fiber architectures for GPU clusters and data center interconnects.
• Develop rack-to-rack, row, zone, and cross-connect cabling architectures.
• Define fiber types, connectors, polarity, patching, labeling, and cable management standards.
• Develop and validate cable matrices, port maps, and installation documentation.
• Collaborate with OEMs and infrastructure manufacturers to validate interoperability and roadmaps.
• Support estimating, proposals, and customer design reviews.
• Ensure designs are constructible, scalable, testable, and repeatable across large deployments.
