Job summary

Gimlet Labs, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Architect to turn compute requirements into buildable data hall designs for new colocation sites and expansions. This senior IC role oversees white-space design, infrastructure fit, physical network architecture, and design handoff.

Your deliverable is an approved design package detailing layouts, connections, and power/cooling needs for deployment teams. You’ll work with compute/network engineers, facilities, and colocation providers to resolve issues

Qualifications

• Own data center white-space designs from requirements through handoff.
• Produce floor plans and rack layouts balancing density, serviceability, and growth.
• Interpret drawings and translate specs into infrastructure requirements.
• Collaborate with providers, engineers, and deployment teams to resolve capacity gaps.
• Familiarity with high-density AI/HPC infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own white-space design from initial requirements through installation handoff.
• Create floor plans, rack layouts, and connectivity drawings.
• Define power and cooling requirements and distribution routes.
• Review designs, resolve installation questions, and maintain updated drawings.
