Job summary

AEP is seeking a Security Spec Sr/Prin/Lead to integrate AI capabilities within the security operations center and drive enterprise-wide threat detection improvements. The role bridges cybersecurity operations with advanced analytics, leveraging AI tools to enhance detection and automate responses.

You will work with SOC analysts, detection engineering, and data teams to deploy, tune, and scale AI-driven use cases, while staying current on adversary tactics and AI advances in cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT/security or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years IT experience; OR 1+ year security-related experience.
• AI/ML experience in security a plus; familiarity with threat detection.
• Active or eligible for SECRET DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance fusion center capabilities by integrating cross-domain intelligence, improving visibility, and enterprise-wide situational awareness.
• Develop and deploy AI models to support alert triage, prioritization and anomaly detection.
• Design, implement and maintain AI-driven detection and response capabilities within the SOC.
• Analyze large-scale security telemetry to identify patterns, threats and opportunities for detection improvement.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts and engineers to implement AI-assisted decision making.
• Automate repetitive SOC tasks using AI and scripting.
• Create dashboards and metrics to measure SOC performance improvements.
• Monitor model performance and reduce false positives/negatives; improve detection quality.
