Job summary

Monks is seeking an AI Craft Director to pioneer AI-enabled creative workflows at the intersection of filmmaking, generative AI, and immersive systems in the USA. The role reports to the Head of Creative and requires deep expertise in VFX, animation, and real-time rendering.

You will lead and translate complex AI-enabled visual strategies for senior stakeholders, building proofs-of-concept and integrating AI into production pipelines while maintaining strong creative direction and storytelling.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in VFX, animation, character development, motion design, or film directing.
• Demonstrated expertise in generative AI tools, real-time engines, and VR/AR/XR.
• Portfolio showcasing innovative, boundary-pushing creative work.
• Exceptional communication and presentation for senior client interactions.
• Strong understanding of technical architecture and creative pipeline integration.

Responsibilities

• Uphold directorial sensibilities in lighting, composition, and color while integrating generative AI and real-time rendering into studio workflows.
• Proactively identify brand opportunities and rapidly build proofs-of-concept of novel visual treatments.
• Present complex technical workflows to client stakeholders, translating capabilities into business value.
• Monitor emerging tools and serve as a translator between creative and development teams.
• Develop and disseminate new production methodologies across the organization.
