Job summary

Philips is seeking an AI Clinical Solutions Engineer to bridge clinical practice and AI innovation for the Azurion Eye program. You will identify opportunities, deploy AI in clinical settings, validate outputs, and collaborate with physicians, product teams, and AI engineers to deliver measurable value.

The role requires a Master’s/PhD in a related field, 7+ years in healthcare software, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience developing software-based healthcare or medical technology solutions.
  • Experience with AI-enabled healthcare products and working directly with clinicians.
  • Understanding of image-guided therapy, interventional cardiology, or related clinical domains.
  • Experience with regulated product development, including FDA Design Controls and SaMD/SaNMD environments.
  • Strong ability to translate clinical observations into product requirements and engineering priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify clinical challenges and translate them into AI-enabled product opportunities and requirements.
  • Deploy and evaluate AI capabilities in clinical environments, gathering structured feedback on usability, performance, and workflow fit.
  • Validate AI outputs, identify edge cases and failure modes, and support continuous model improvement.
  • Work closely with Product Management and R&D teams to accelerate learning cycles and prioritize product enhancements.
  • Support clinical evaluations, evidence generation, and AI performance validation activities.
  • Build strong partnerships with physicians and hospital stakeholders to drive co-creation and adoption of AI solutions.
  • Support prototype deployments, software validation, and integration into hospital IT environments.
  • Represent customer needs across multidisciplinary teams including AI, Clinical Science, Engineering, UX, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs.

As an AI Clinical Solutions Engineer within the Azurion Eye program, you bridge the gap between clinical practice and AI innovation. Working closely with physicians, clinical staff, product teams, and AI engineers, you identify opportunities where AI can improve workflows, accelerate decision-making, and enhance patient care. You validate AI solutions in real-world clinical environments and ensure new capabilities deliver measurable clinical value.

You’re the right fit if:

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Massachusetts is $140,000 to $223,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
