Job summary

Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) invites undergraduate and graduate students to join a Summer Internship in Data Analytics and Insights Innovation Cohort for Product Innovation in AI for Chemistry at our Columbus, Ohio headquarters. The program runs May 17, 2027–August 6, 2027 and centers on researching AI applications in chemistry, prototyping products, and gathering user feedback.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergrad/grad studies in chemistry or related field
• Strong interest in how AI reshapes chemistry and industry
• Curiosity about product development and prototyping
• Ability to collaborate in a cohort while pursuing an individual product concept
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Chemistry/life science/materials data experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Imagine the future of AI in chemistry and help turn ideas into reality
• Conduct research with prospective customers across chemistry to identify opportunities
• Build and test product prototypes addressing key chemistry problems
• Gather feedback from users and domain experts
• Learn about product development and product management in software and data science
• Engage in leadership and entrepreneurship cohort with startup-focused training
• Deliver a final wrap-up presentation of your product candidate
