Job summary

Prolific Academic Ltd is seeking Chemistry Experts and Chemical Engineers to join its Expert Network, helping train and evaluate AI models with real-world chemical expertise. Successful candidates complete a brief test and, if invited, participate as paid contributors working on tasks from home.

You'll review AI outputs, validate reactions and safety information, annotate molecular data, and ensure accuracy in lab documentation.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related science.
• Experience in laboratory research or industrial chemical processing.
• Knowledge of organic, inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
• Understanding of chemical safety protocols (SDS), GHS, and regulatory requirements (EPA, REACH, FDA).
• Ability to identify errors in IUPAC nomenclature, stoichiometry, and thermodynamics.
• Clear and accurate technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated chemistry for factual accuracy, structural integrity, and reasoning.
• Fact-check reactions and formulas, balancing equations and viable synthetic routes.
• Audit technical documentation including lab protocols, safety summaries, and spectral interpretations (NMR, IR, Mass Spec).
• Annotate molecular data, correct errors in SMILES, 2D/3D representations, and property predictions.
• Ensure safety by monitoring outputs to avoid instructions for hazardous substances.
