Job summary

Customs Support Group seeks an AI Engineer to lead the development and customization of its AI stack for the European and other markets. You will design, test and implement practical, compliant agented AI solutions on top of foundation models, with retrieval, tool calling, and end-to-end agent workflows for customs operations.

You will work with Operations, Transformation, IT and Group teams to turn business needs into scalable solutions, ensuring governance and cost controls while delivering

Qualifications

• 1–2 years AI engineering or intelligent automation experience with LLM features in production.
• Strong Python and SQL with production code ownership.
• Experience integrating large language models into production systems — prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, structured output, and graceful failure handling.
• Experience with at least one major cloud AI platform (Azure AI, AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex).
• Solid back-end fundamentals — APIs, data pipelines, testing & CI/CD.
• Excellent communication with operations staff who are AI non-experts.
• Professional fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customise AI solutions for the Region market from prototype to production ownership.
• Identify automation opportunities across customs and processes and size them before building.
• Design solutions using generative AI, retrieval, tool calling, and structured extraction.
• Own evaluation and define success criteria for deployed solutions.
• Manage pilots, implementation, and scaling criteria.
• Monitor performance, cost, latency and business impact.
• Collaborate with local and group teams; ensure privacy, security and AI governance compliance.
