The USA TODAY Network is seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy AI-Assisted Reporter with a keen interest in automation tools. This is a fully remote position and can be based anywhere in the continental United States, but preference will be given to candidates in or near Illinois. The successful candidate will utilize AI technology to create content for our news brands while applying traditional journalism skills.
As an AI-Assisted Reporter, you will develop your news and technical skills, managing and utilizing AI technology effectively. This role involves producing a high volume of stories from trusted press releases and similar sources. This is not a beat-reporting position and does not require travel or face-to-face interviews.
The ideal candidate will have basic journalism and phone/videoconference communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for turning around multiple stories a day, ensuring our readers stay informed. Employment is contingent on passing a post-offer pre-employment background check & drug screen.

The hourly rate for this role will range between $14.28 and $33.73. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation.
