Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced AI, Automation & Integration Architect to join a leading telecommunications organization and help shape the next generation of intelligent network and IT operations.

This position is ideal for a technology architect who understands the telecommunications ecosystem end-to-end and can combine that knowledge with modern AI, automation, cloud and integration technologies.

The objective is not simply to explore AI technologies, but to identify real business and operational opportunities, design the right architecture and successfully move solutions into production environments.

What will you be doing?

You will work across different technology areas, including Network, NOC, OSS, BSS, Enterprise IT, Cloud, Data and Cybersecurity, helping connect these environments and identify opportunities where AI and automation can deliver measurable improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define technology and solution architectures for AI, automation and integration initiatives.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities where AI can improve telecom operations and business processes.
  • Design integration strategies connecting network platforms, OSS, BSS and enterprise applications.
  • Develop reusable architecture patterns for GenAI, RAG, AI agents and intelligent workflows.
  • Help introduce AI-powered solutions into operational environments while maintaining appropriate security, governance and human oversight.
  • Work with technical and business stakeholders to take ideas from concept → PoC → production → scale.
  • Evaluate new AI, automation and integration technologies and determine where they can provide real value.
  • Establish best practices around AI governance, data privacy, security, monitoring and cost management.

Telecom experience is essential

This is an important requirement for the position.

Candidates must have direct experience working within a telecommunications carrier or network operator environment.

We are looking for someone who understands how telecom organizations operate and how different technology domains interact, including:

Network: RAN, Packet Core, IMS, Transport, Fixed / FTTH and NOC

OSS: Inventory, Fault Management, Performance Management, Service Assurance, Provisioning and Activation

BSS: CRM, Product Catalogue, Order Management, Charging, Billing and Revenue Assurance

Enterprise IT: ERP, Finance, Procurement, HR and IT Service Management

Experience exclusively with telecom vendors, system integrators or consulting companies will not be considered equivalent to direct operator experience.

AI & Automation Focus

The organization is looking to apply AI to real operational challenges.

Some of the initial areas include:

  • Automated ticket classification and triage
  • Network fault and root-cause analysis
  • Customer service and contact-center automation
  • AI assistants for network engineers and field teams
  • ITSM and back-office automation
  • Charging, billing and revenue assurance
  • Vendor, CAPEX and RFP analysis

The successful candidate should be able to translate these types of business problems into practical technical architectures and production-ready solutions.

Technology Environment

Experience with several of the following technologies would be highly valuable:

AI / GenAI

  • Generative AI
  • LLMs
  • RAG
  • AI Agents
  • Agentic AI
  • MCP / agent frameworks
  • AI evaluation and guardrails
  • AIOps

Integration

  • API Management
  • iPaaS / ESB
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies
  • Microservices
  • AWS or GCP
  • Python
  • Cloud-native architectures
  • SON
  • ODA / eTOM
  • 3GPP
  • NWDAF
  • O-RAN / RIC

Experience doesn't need to cover every technology listed above. We are more interested in strong architectural experience combined with the ability to understand and apply these technologies effectively.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a background similar to:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology, telecom or enterprise architecture.
  • Previous experience working directly for a telecommunications operator/carrier.
  • Strong understanding of telecom Network, OSS, BSS and Enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, RAG and/or Agentic AI.
  • Experience moving AI or automation initiatives beyond experimentation and into production.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and modern software architectures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work with both highly technical teams and business leadership.

Experience in a regional or multi-country telecom environment would be a strong advantage.

Why is this role interesting?

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of:

Telecommunications + Artificial Intelligence + Automation + Cloud + Integration

You will have the opportunity to influence how AI is applied across network operations, customer processes and enterprise systems, while helping establish solutions that can eventually be reused across multiple markets.

The role offers significant visibility across the organization and requires someone who can operate comfortably at both the strategic architecture level and the hands-on implementation level.

In one sentence:

We are looking for a Telecom Architect who understands operators from the inside and can use GenAI, Agentic AI, automation and modern integration technologies to transform real telecom operations.
