AtkinsRéalis seeks an AI & Data Science Specialist to join our Tallahassee team, embedded full-time at the FDOT client office. You will collaborate with experts to solve business challenges using data science, ML, and AI, collecting and analyzing data to extract insights and deploy AI solutions.

You will develop AI applications with generative capabilities, build AI tools and dashboards, and support strategy with multidisciplinary teams while mentoring colleagues and communicating results to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, AI, or ML (4+ years with a Master’s) or 3+ years direct AI/ML development experience.
• Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with databases, SQL, Power BI and/or Tableau, and cloud platforms including Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior team members and communicate technical findings to clients, stakeholders, and leadership.
• Utilize cloud technologies including Azure and/or AWS to support AI and analytics solutions.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client engagements while supporting successful project delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, AI, or machine learning (4+ years with a Master’s degree), or 3+ years of direct AI/ML application development experience.
• Experience designing, building, and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies.
• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience building AI Copilots, chatbots, RAG systems, AI agents, NLP solutions, computer vision applications, or predictive analytics tools.
• Experience with databases, SQL, Power BI and/or Tableau, and cloud platforms including Azure or AWS.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $115,000 - $130,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
