AtkinsRéalis is seeking an AI & Data Science Specialist to join our Tallahassee office. This embedded full-time role will work with the FDOT client, focusing on AI/ML, data science, and dashboard development.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data science or 3+ years in AI/ML development with a master's, strong Python skills, and experience with LLMs and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years in data science, analytics, AI, or ML; or 3+ years in AI/ML development with a master's.
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI technologies.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in production.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with industry experts to solve complex business challenges using data science, ML, and AI.
• Collect, organize, and analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends and insights.
• Design, develop, deploy ML models and predictive analytics solutions.
• Develop AI applications including generative AI leveraging LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini).
• Build AI-powered tools: Copilots, chatbots, RAG systems, AI agents, NLP, CV, predictive analytics.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI or similar.
• Support data and AI strategy within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor junior team members and communicate findings to clients and leadership.
• Utilize cloud technologies including Azure and/or AWS to support AI solutions.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client engagements.

We are seeking a AI & Data Science Specialist to join our teamin Tallahassee, FL. This position will be embedded full-time, 5 days a week at the FDOT client office.

Your role

• Collaborate with industry experts to solve complex business challenges using data science, machine learning, and AI.
• Collect, organize, and analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends and actionable insights.
• Design, develop, optimize, and deploy machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions.
• Develop AI applications, including generative AI solutions leveraging LLMs such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, AI, or machine learning (4+ years with a Master's degree), or 3+ years of direct AI/ML application development experience.
• Experience designing, building, and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies.
• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience building AI Copilots, chatbots, RAG systems, AI agents, NLP solutions, computer vision applications, or predictive analytics tools.
• Experience with databases, SQL, Power BI and/or Tableau, and cloud platforms including Azure or AWS.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $115,000 - $130,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
