Job summary

Perplexity is seeking a Tech Lead Manager to lead the Agents engineering team within the Comet ecosystem, spanning AI/ML, backend, and full-stack engineering. The TLM will shape the roadmap and mentor a growing team to deliver robust agentic experiences.

You will drive architectural decisions, model development, browser integrations, and secure-by-design systems while partnering with the co-founders to redefine what's possible in AI agents for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in engineering management.
• Strong Python development skills; experience with TypeScript/Go/Rust is a plus.
• Experience leading AI/ML focused backend and frontend teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple layers of a rapidly growing AI agents product.
• Grow and mentor the Agents engineering team, overseeing hiring and onboarding.
• Define system architectures and product roadmaps; align with co-founders on strategic objectives.
• Advance AI models, infrastructure, and browser technologies for scale.
• Ensure code quality, reliability, testing, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver agentic experiences.
