Cogniify, Inc. in San Francisco, CA is seeking an AI & Agentic Engineer II to design, build and deploy production-grade agentic applications that automate multi-step IT and business workflows.

You will turn prototypes into hardened services and build CI/CD pipelines, evaluation harnesses and observability for AI workloads. You will lead reviews, promote secure-by-design and responsible AI practices, and mentor junior engineers.

Competenze

• 3+ years with a Master's degree is acceptable in lieu of 5+ years experience.

AI & Agentic Engineer II - Production Agentic Systems

TheRole

Cogniify is hiring an AI & Agentic Engineer II to design, buildand deploy production-grade agentic applications that automate multi-step ITand business workflows. This role delivers spec-driven, testable and secure AIsolutions, contributes reusable platform patterns and helps raise engineeringstandards, working closely with product, security and platform teams.

You will design end-to-end agentic applications and multi-agentworkflows, harden prototypes into production-ready services, and build theCI/CD pipelines, evaluation harnesses and observability that AI workloads need.You will lead prompt, specification and code reviews, promote secure-by-designand responsible AI practices, and mentor junior engineers. This is anindividual contributor role with no travel required.

WhatYou Will Do

• Design and deliver end-to-end agenticapplications and multi-agent workflows for IT and business processes.
• Turn prototypes into hardened,production-ready services with clear specifications, modular design, errorhandling and thorough tests.
• Integrate LLMs, prompts, tools, APIs andenterprise data sources, using platforms and protocols such as AWS Bedrock,Databricks Mosaic AI and MCP servers.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, automatedevaluation harnesses, observability and artifact versioning for AI workloads.
• Write architecture notes, runbooks, SOPsand technical documentation.
• Lead prompt and specification reviews,code reviews, threat modeling and release-readiness gates.
• Promote secure-by-design and responsibleAI practices, including data governance, privacy and safe prompting.
• Contribute reusable components, patternsand internal libraries.
• Partner with product, security andplatform teams to turn business needs into technical solutions.

WhatWe Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in softwareengineering, data science, automation or related technical work (3+ years witha Master's degree), including 2-4 years of relevant work in AI applicationdevelopment, with hands-on experience in LLM-enabled applications, agenticworkflows and API integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,AI, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
• Experience with agent frameworks andpatterns such as tool use, planning and execution loops, guardrails, evaluationand prompt and version management.
• Experience building and consuming RESTAPIs and integrating enterprise systems with OAuth/JWT, secrets management andsecure data handling.
• Experience with CI/CD, unit andintegration testing, linting and observability for AI applications.
• Working knowledge of security bestpractices, architecture design and responsible AI and data governance.
• Hands-on experience with cloud AIplatforms, preferably AWS, AWS Bedrock and Databricks Mosaic AI, along withvector stores or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• AI-native engineering experience withcoding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot or equivalents.
• Strong communication andcross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor juniorengineers.

PreferredExperience

• Experience delivering evaluationframeworks, red-teaming or LLM observability tooling.
