Job summary

Cogniify, Inc. is seeking an AI & Agentic Engineer to prototype, build and deploy agent-based applications for enterprise IT and business workflows.

You will integrate LLMs, prompts, tools and APIs to automate multi-step tasks, delivering production-ready solutions with tests and solid error handling. You will work under senior engineers, emphasize secure-by-design and responsible AI practices, and contribute to architecture notes, documentation and pre-release reviews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering, data science, automation or related technical work.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/AI/Data Science or related field or equivalent.
• Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks or AI development.
• Understanding of agentic concepts such as tool use, planning loops and guardrails.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git and software development fundamentals.
• Familiarity with automated testing, linting and CI pipelines.
• Clear communication for cross-functional teamwork.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly with focus on security and compliance.

Responsibilities

AI & Agentic Engineer – Enterprise Workflow Automation

TheRole

Cogniify is hiring an AI & Agentic Engineer to help prototype,build and deploy agent-based applications for enterprise IT and businessworkflows. This role works closely with senior engineers and with security,compliance and business teams to turn early ideas into spec-driven, testableand production-ready solutions.

You will build pilot AI applications and agentic workflows thatconnect LLMs, prompts, tools and APIs to automate multi-step tasks, and turnquick prototypes into maintainable code with specifications, tests and propererror handling. You will apply secure-by-design and responsible AI practicesthroughout. This is an individual contributor role working under the directionof senior engineers, with no travel expected.

WhatYou Will Do

• Build pilot AI applications and agenticworkflows under the direction of senior engineers.
• Prototype quickly, then turn prototypesinto maintainable code with clear specifications, automated tests, modulardesign and robust error handling.
• Develop agents that automate multi-stepIT and business tasks by connecting LLMs, prompts, tools and APIs.
• Use coding agents and AI developer toolsto speed up delivery.
• Carry out CI/CD tasks such as automatedtesting, build validation and artifact versioning.
• Write documentation, includingarchitecture notes, setup guides, operating procedures and end-user guidance.
• Take part in prompt and specificationreviews, code reviews and pre-release testing.
• Apply secure-by-design and responsibleAI practices, including data handling, privacy and safe prompting.

WhatWe Are Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in softwareengineering, data science, automation or related technical work (1+ year with aMaster’s degree), including up to 2 years of relevant work in AI applicationdevelopment, such as building or contributing to LLM-enabled applications,agentic workflows or API integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,AI, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
• Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering,agent frameworks or AI application development through work, coursework orprojects.
• Understanding of agentic concepts suchas tool use, planning loops, guardrails, prompt and version management, andcontext engineering.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git andsoftware development fundamentals.
• Familiarity with automated testing,linting and CI pipelines.
• Clear communication skills for workingwith cross-functional teams.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly, takeinitiative and pay close attention to security, privacy and compliance.

PreferredExperience

• Exposure to AWS Cloud, AWS Bedrock,Databricks Mosaic AI or comparable agent frameworks.
• Exposure to AI-native engineering toolssuch as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar coding agents.
