Job summary

Google LLC in Illinois, USA is hiring within Google Cloud's Mandiant cybersecurity group. The role focuses on building AI agents and reusable skills to automate and augment cyber defense workflows, including prompt engineering, function calling, and integration with SIEM/SOAR/EDR data sources.

This US-based role is remote eligible. Expected compensation ranges from $138,000 to $200,000 annually, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in Python.
• Experience integrating systems via REST APIs and working with cloud platforms.
• Experience building with LLMs, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, RAG, or agent frameworks.
• Experience with Generative AI, Generative AI Agent, Model Context Protocol, API Development, and Workflow Automation, and experience in cybersecurity in SOC or incident response roles.

Responsibilities

• Identify challenges in customer Cyber Defense Centers and formulate strategies for improvement, plan implementation of improvements, and execute/oversee plans to completion.
• Provide expertise for AI and Agentic technologies that assist in Cyber Defense Center Processes and advise on AI and Agentic technologies relied upon by the client CDC, CSIRT, and SOC.
• Design, build, and maintain AI agents and reusable skills that automate and augment cyber defense workflows (alert triage, threat hunting, investigation, detection authoring, reporting, etc).
• Develop AI tooling and internal frameworks, prompt pipelines, tool/function integrations, evaluation harnesses, and orchestration that consultants can deploy across engagements.
• Integrate agents with security data sources and platforms (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat intelligence feeds, ticketing) via API, MCP and other connectors.
