AI Agent Engineer – Backend Focus

Overview

Build the next generation of intelligent business applications as an AI Agent Engineer – Backend Focus. This role is ideal for a hands‑on backend engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with practical experience developing and deploying production‑grade AI agents.

You’ll partner with product managers and domain experts to understand complex workflows, define success criteria, and transform business challenges into reliable agentic solutions. From designing multi‑agent workflows and integrating tools to deploying scalable backend services and continuously improving production performance, you’ll own solutions from discovery through implementation and ongoing optimization.

Required Skills

• Approximately 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development and production systems.
• Approximately 2+ years of hands‑on experience building AI agents or agent-powered production applications using code.
• Strong backend development experience with Python.
• Experience building REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with:
• LLM APIs and SDKs
• AI agent frameworks
• Multi‑agent orchestration
• Tool calling
• Context and state management
• Agent execution workflows
• Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying:
• Production‑grade backend services
• REST APIs
