Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking an AI Developer to advance our AI-powered enterprise platform. You will design and implement agentic systems, integrating Large Language Models to orchestrate business workflows and improve user experiences.

This is a hybrid role with two in-office days per week in Chicago or New Jersey and requires hands-on software development and leadership across the AI ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years of AI software development experience, with at least 2 years in AI agent/multi-agent development.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (design, deployment, operations). Certifications in Azure AI Engineer are a plus.
• Strong background in AI agent ecosystems (multi-agent patterns, orchestration concepts, agent registries, tool routing, memory/state).
• Experience implementing monitoring/observability for AI/agent solutions (logging, tracing, metrics, alerting).
• Proven delivery on multiple AI initiatives and ability to translate ambiguity into actionable plans.
• Financial services or wealth management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of the Agent Ecosystem and the orchestration layer for AI agents.
• Serve as player-coach, balancing hands-on engineering with strategic guidance on product direction.
• Create foundational patterns and frameworks to enable scalability and reusability.
