Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Distinguished Engineer - AI Adoption to accelerate enterprise AI adoption, evaluate emerging AI technologies, and design reusable frameworks. You will lead hands-on engineering efforts across cloud platforms, APIs, and distributed systems, working with internal teams and external vendors to enable safe, scalable AI use.

The role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of AI patterns, and the ability to translate business problems into practical AI solutions.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 15+ years of software engineering experience including distributed systems and large-scale architectures.
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions using Python, Java, or similar OO languages; API/microservices design and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise AI adoption by partnering with business units and cross-functional teams.
Translate business problems into AI-enabled designs including LLM apps and automation.
Evaluate AI vendors, platforms, and tools through hands-on testing and technical assessments.
Design reusable AI frameworks, reference architectures, and engineering patterns for production use.
Provide hands-on engineering leadership across cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, and DevOps environments.
Stay current on AI trends and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
