ALAMOSA SCHOOL DISTRICT, NO. RE-11J is seeking an enthusiastic AHS Colorguard Instructor to teach and develop the marching band's color guard program.
You will instruct students in flag, rifle, dance, and movement techniques, design and teach choreography, and rehearse performances for the halftime show, while promoting safe technique and close collaboration with the band director. Evening/early morning rehearsals are not specified; this on-site program includes morning rehearsals before school
AHS Colorguard Instructor: Responsible for teaching and developing the marching band’s color guard program by instructing students in flag, rifle, dance, and movement techniques. The instructor designs and teaches choreography, rehearses performances, promotes proper technique and safety, and works closely with the band director to coordinate routines for the marching band’s halftime show.
Morning rehearsals before school: 7:00 am–7:45 am. Full group marching band rehearsal: 7:55 am–8:50 am during the school day.
Fall semester: 2–3 football games, 1–2 parades, and other school‑day performances upon request. Spring semester: minimal performances, including the Canon City Blossom Festival Parade in May.
