AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology – Altamonte Springs Nurse Practitioner, ARNP or Physician Assistant, PA-C

Full Time Position

General Summary:

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

1. Performing physical examinations as needed and monitoring cardiology & interventional cardiology patients in the clinic and hospital setting in Winter Park: new patient visits, pre-& post-procedure care, follow up.
2. Seeing patients independently and supporting hospital call.
3. Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
4. Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and making appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
5. Collaborating with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
6. Displaying a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.

Candidate must be able to pass a third-party background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Schedule Details:

Inpatient and Outpatient rotating schedule; One week Inpatient Monday-Friday, 2 – 3 weeks outpatient with potential for 4 day work week.

Required Education/Experience:

1. Master’s degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant studies.
2. 2-3 years experience in inpatient cardiology.

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

1. Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license or ability to obtain.
2. ANCC, AANP or NCCPA certification required.
3. Current BLS and ACLS.
