Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified instructor to coordinate American Heart Association courses and support the Resuscitation Simulation Department in Florida. You will ensure courses meet AHA standards and manage classrooms, equipment, and student ratios while applying adult learning techniques.

The role involves preparing lesson plans aligned with AHA curricula, delivering interactive instruction, and evaluating trainee learning using approved formats.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent licensure education.
  • Current state licensure as an RN, RRT, EMTP, or MD.
  • ACLS and/or PALS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Four years of experience as a BLS, ACLS and/or PALS provider.
  • Ability to float to other Cleveland Clinic locations within the Florida region.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience as an American Heart Association or American Red Cross instructor preferred.
  • Successful completion of BCLS, ACLS, or PALS within the new hire period.
  • High degree of dexterity using a PC.
  • Normal or corrected vision, hearing, and speech.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk extensively.
  • Occasional ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Must follow standard precautions and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Must comply with annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption.
  • Offers of employment are followed by controlled-substance testing.
  • Must satisfy applicable Florida background-screening requirements.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP), or Doctor of Medicine (MD)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Four years of experience as a BLS, ACLS and/or PALS provider through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
