Job summary

Matrix Service Company seeks an AGW Welder to setup, operate, monitor, and maintain Automatic Girth Welding equipment for aboveground storage tanks. You will weld shell seams with FCAW/GMAW, verify weld quality, read procedures and drawings, and ensure adherence to WPS and API/AWS standards.

Role requires 3–5 years of welding experience, 1–3 years in AGW or automated systems, and ability to travel to remote project locations. Good safety record and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of industrial welding experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of AGW or automated welding system experience.
• Able to pass welding qualification tests.
• Experience with aboveground storage tank construction.

Responsibilities

• Operate automatic welding systems using FCAW or GMAW as specified.
• Verify weld quality through visual inspection during welding operations.
• Read and interpret welding procedures, drawings, weld maps, and fabrication specs.
• Monitor preheat and interpass temperatures when required.
• Coordinate with fitters and erection crews to maintain production schedules.
• Maintain welding documentation and production records.
• Support NDE activities including RT/UT/MT/PT inspections.
