Job summary

Norder Supply, Inc. is seeking an Agronomy Sales Support Specialist to assist our Agronomy Sales Specialists and Regional Business Manager in maintaining and growing sales with current and prospective customers.

This role offers exposure to agronomy recommendations, crop planning, field scouting, and data management within our Precision platform. You will collaborate with the sales team to promote our products, visit clients, and help coordinate product deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business or agriculture or related field.
• Experience in agriculture or crop scouting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Agronomy Sales Specialists to promote and sell products and services, growing the customer base.
• Visit and call new and existing clients to test sales strategies.
• Build relationships with customers to maximize net return per acre.
• Promote seed market presence with current and potential customers.
• Prepare customer proposals and crop plans, including agronomy recommendations and input pricing; build work orders.
• Conduct field scouting to assess crop health and determine pesticide/nutrient schedules.
• Manage yield data in the Norder Precision platform to support farming practices.
• Promote new products and participate in product evaluations as directed.
• Mentor summer interns and assist with scheduling.
• Coordinate delivery of chemicals, nutrients, and seeds; support timely distribution.
• Assist with tissue and soil sampling to support agronomy recommendations.

Job description

This role will assist the Agronomy Sales Specialists and the Regional Business Manager in maintaining and growing sales with current and prospective customers. The Agronomy Sales Support Specialist will be able to gain experience and knowledge in the Agronomy Sales industry by working closely with an Agronomy Sales Specialist. This role will promote professionalism and teamwork while delivering on our purpose of “Assisting our Customers in Achieving Maximum Net Return per Acre.”

Key Responsibilities

• Observe the sales process by collaborating with Agronomy Sales Specialists to promote and sell our products and services. Assist in sales and service calls, contributing to the growth of our customer base.
• Practice and test sales strategies by visiting and calling new and existing clients.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers to build trust and loyalty, ultimately contributing to achieving maximum net return per acre.
• Amplify our presence in the seed market with current and potential customers.
• Assist in preparing detailed customer proposals and crop plans, including agronomy recommendations and input pricing. Build work orders and complete all necessary administrative tasks to facilitate smooth operations for the team.
• Conduct field scouting activities to assess crop health and growth, helping determine the optimal pesticide and nutrient application schedules.
• Assist customers with yield data and proficiently manage data within the Norder Supply Precision platform to enhance their farming practices.
• Play an active role in promoting new innovative products and perform product evaluations as directed by Agronomy Sales Specialists.
• Oversee and assist with the scheduling and mentoring summer interns, fostering their development in agronomy.
• Help coordinate the delivery of chemicals, nutrients, and seeds to customers, ensuring timely and efficient product distribution.
• Assist with tissue and soil sampling to support agronomy recommendations and data collection.
• Complete any other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the agronomy team and the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Preferably possesses prior sales experience, agronomic knowledge, and business expertise.
• Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exhibits a high level of coachability and welcomes constructive feedback.
• Self-motivated and proficient in working independently and as part of a team.
• Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
• Holds a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards. A valid CDL is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.

Critical Experience

• Bachelors degree in business, agriculture science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Practical experience in agriculture, such as farm work or crop scouting.
