Syngenta Seeds is seeking an Agronomy Research Intern in Malta, IL to learn daily activities of an Agronomic Research Scientist. You will work on trial design, data generation, and yield trials, gaining hands-on experience and leadership exposure through a summer project and end-of-term reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Agronomy, Horticulture, Ag Business, or another related field.
• Understanding and use of modern agronomic practices.

Responsibilities

• Understand how agronomic data is generated to improve seed customers' experience through product placement and yield potential.
• Learn fundamental trial design and execution to answer agronomic questions.
• Help package, plant, take notes, and harvest agronomic corn and soybean yield trials as part of the team.
• Assist in hand pollinations and supervise seasonal labor during pollination; perform phenotypic evaluations.
• Communicate status updates regularly with peers and supervisors.
