Job summary

New Century FS, Inc. in Hartley, IA offers a Summer 2027 agronomy operations internship under GROWMARK Exploring Agriculture. You will train with location management to learn the FS and GROWMARK system, gain agronomy knowledge, and prepare for a future in agriculture.

You will work hands-on in the field, assist with equipment and facility maintenance, and visit FS locations to build professional relationships while learning about crop scouting, nutrition, and protection products.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree or certificate from a college, technical school, or university and in good academic standing at internship start.
• Preferred ability to obtain CDL and commercial applicator’s license with required endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and valid medical card.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Essential abilities include communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, along with willingness to travel.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
• Participate in required training related to GROWMARK’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in agronomy field operations.
• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
• Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gain understanding of ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
