Job summary

Garden City Co-op Inc is seeking an Agronomy Operator to join our Crop Production team. You will handle day-to-day tasks such as loading fertilizers and chemicals, delivering products, and performing routine equipment maintenance.

A clean driving record and strong organizational skills are essential, with CDL preferred for tanker/HAZMAT endorsements. The role requires reliability, adherence to safety manuals, and the ability to work Monday through Friday with potential weekend shifts as directed

Responsibilities

  • Safely blending and/or loading liquid, dry, and ammonia fertilizers.
  • Safely and accurately loading chemical, either packaged goods or bulk shuttles.
  • Safely delivering all fertilizer or chemical products to customers or custom applicators per written instructions and maps.
  • Safely performing routine maintenance on all equipment owned by Garden City Co-op.
  • General housekeeping tasks at all Crop Production facilities.
  • Complying with Garden City Co-ops Safety and Compliance Manual.
  • Following company policies as outlined in Garden City Co-ops Employee Manual.
  • Reporting to work in a timely manner, Monday through Friday and on weekends as required by the Operations Manager.

We have the perfect fit for you as an Agronomy Operator being a part of our Crop Production team. As an Agronomy Operator, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational tasks as assigned by the Operation Manager and Yard Supervisor. Safety is a priority in this position.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESYou are responsible for safely blending and or loading liquid, dry, and ammonia fertilizers.You are responsible for safely and accurately loading chemical, either packaged goods or bulk shuttles. This may include dispensing product and weighing shuttles in and out.You are responsible for safely delivering all fertilizer or chemical products to customers or custom applicators per written instructions and maps.You are responsible for safely performing routine maintenance on all equipment owned by Garden City Co-op.You are responsible for general housekeeping tasks at all Crop Production facilities.You are responsible for complying with Garden City Co-ops Safety and Compliance Manual.You are expected to follow company policies as outlined in Garden City Co-ops Employee Manual.You are expected to report to work in a timely manner, at the discretion of the Operations Manager.You are expected to be at work Monday thru Friday and on weekends as required by the Operations Manager.SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTSMaintain a clean driving recordClass A CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements (PREFERRED NOT REQUIRED)Organization and planning skills.Ability to prioritize and manage time.Paying attention to detail and maintaining accuracy.Patience and adaptability.Customer service orientation.Superior numeric skills.Use of the internet, email, and willingness to learn required accounting systems software.INDIVIDUAL COMPETENCIES NEEDED FOR THIS POSITIONPositive Outlook - Always displays optimism.
