Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a CDL Applicator for our Mayview location. You will apply liquid and dry fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as ordered by customers, using appropriate equipment and safety procedures.

The role requires a Class A CDL with HazMat and tanker endorsements, plus a reliable vehicle and valid state license. Training on local policies will be provided, with adherence to DOT rules and company guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizers and ag chemicals to customer fields.
• Operate all applicator equipment and vehicles per company policies and laws.
• Maintain safety by following inspections and reporting hazards.
• Record daily application logs and inventory movements.
• Assist with housekeeping, inventory counting, and equipment maintenance.
• Scout fields for insects and weeds when needed.
• Follow DOT rules and Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc. policies.

REPORTS TO: Location manager

DEPARTMENT: Agronomy

Primary Purpose: Provide Professional application and service to customers and customers fields

General Description: Assist in all facets of business with primary focus on custom application of Fertilizers and ag chemicals

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Communicate daily activities, needs and accomplishments with location manager and/or operations manager.
• Apply agronomy products to customer’s fields including dry and liquid fertilizer, chemicals, lime and NH3.
• Assist in housekeeping and maintenance of facility grounds including mowing, spraying weeds, and moving snow
• Assist in outbound and inbound agronomy products.
• Operate all equipment & vehicles according to Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc. policies and procedures along with local, state and federal laws.
• Ensure safety compliance, through plant inspections, custom applicator inspections, near miss and unsafe condition reporting and direct communication with location management in regards to safety.
• Maintain and record maintenance of application equipment, tending equipment, NH3 equipment, pickups & side dress equipment.
• Record Daily application logs.
• Assist with measurement and counting of inventory of dry & liquid fertilizers, NH3 and chemicals.
• Scout fields for insects and weeds in absence of sales agronomist, etc…
• Follow all applicable State and Federal DOT rules and regulations.
• Read, understand and follow all Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc. policies and procedures.
• Comply with all Company, State and Federal Rules, Regulations, and policies.
• Read, understand and follow all company employee policies.

OTHER DUTIES:

• Able to build morale and group commitments to achieve goals and objectives.
• Exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
• Project a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
• Report even minor injuries using the employee injury report form.
• Serve on safety committee for a 2 year period.
• Any other duties assigned by location manager.

Qualifications: Class A CDL with HAZMAT and tanker, reliable vehicle to drive to and from work, valid state motor vehicle license, 20/20 vision in both eyes, with corrective lenses (if applicable).
