You will analyze large agronomic datasets from connected equipment, field trials, remote sensing, and environmental sources to generate actionable insights for internal stakeholders, dealers, and customers.

The role focuses on geospatial analytics, data processing, visualization, and communicating results with PowerPoint or PDF summaries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and geospatial analytics background in agriculture.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, R, and Databricks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex results clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Work with large agricultural datasets from various sources to generate actionable insights for internal stakeholders, dealers, and customers.
  • Manage analytical projects from data processing to visualization and communication of results.
  • Handle workflows involving planters, sprayers, combines, soil maps, satellite imagery, weather, soil, and scouting data.
  • Develop analytical approaches, execute work, and deliver well-supported recommendations and conclusions.
  • Create analytics outputs and communicate findings via PowerPoint or PDF summaries.

Agronomy Analytics Specialist
Johnston, IA

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team for our customer’s facility in Waterloo, IA. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a technically skilled individual to support data analytics and reporting for marketing initiatives focused on agronomic value of John Deere’s technologies. This individual will work with large agricultural datasets from connected equipment, field trials, remote sensing platforms, and environmental data sources to generate actionable insights for internal stakeholders, dealers, and customers.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

++Duties:++
  • Work with large agricultural datasets from connected equipment, field trials, remote sensing platforms, and environmental data sources to generate actionable insights for internal stakeholders, dealers, and customers.
  • Responsible for managing analytical projects from start to finish, including data processing, statistical analysis, visualization, interpretation, and communication of results.
  • Projects will involve operational datasets (from planters, sprayers, combines, etc), geospatial datasets such as soil maps and satellite imagery, and agronomic datasets including weather, soil, and scouting data.
  • Ability to understand project objectives, develop an analytical approach, execute the work, and deliver well-supported recommendations and conclusions.
  • Analytics and ability to communicate through Powerpoint slides or PDF summary.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Geospatial Analytics background in the context of agriculture.
  • ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, R, Databricks experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Needs to be able to put the material together in an easy to understand and professional way.
  • Option to be on-site in Cary, NC or Johnston, IA or remote.

  • Master’s degree.
  • John Deere Operation Center, python, Tableau; PowerBI.
