Job summary

Gold-Eagle Cooperative is seeking an enthusiastic Agronomy Apprentice to join their team in Livermore, IA. The position offers a comprehensive learning experience with responsibilities including equipment maintenance, calibration, and support for agronomy sales.

Ideal candidates will possess a strong agricultural background and excellent communication skills. A valid driver's license is required, and while prior experience is not necessary, motivation and willingness to learn are critical. This full-time position also includes a $1500 sign-on bonus and various benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans.

Job description

Agronomy Apprentice Position - $1500 Sign-on BONUS!

Job Type: Full-Time - Hourly - Livermore, IA

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm *Extended hours including weekends during peak season

Salary

• $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
• $45K - $48K per year

Responsibilities

• Responsible for learning Gold-Eagle Agronomy products, services, and inventory management
• Assist in equipment maintenance and service records
• Calibrate machines to a field ready status before each season
• Maintain professional quality of work in and out of the field
• Maintain and grow local business with dignity, honesty, and class
• Attend mandatory Gold-Eagle Agronomy meetings throughout the year
• Have a desire to learn the trade
• Learn crop production systems; crop scouting and staging, herbicides, seed placement and recommendations and beyond
• Fertilizer/soil sampling with recommendations based on analysis and yield goals
• Ability to blend fertilizer and follow label when blending crop protection products
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, operate equipment with computer-assisted operations
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Very high level of motivation and organizational skills
• Work well with others so they can take instructions from the agronomy sales team; effective listening is critical

Training / Experience

• Agricultural background

• Career advancement and all other trainings suggested by senior staff
• Custom Applicator's License/CDL - recommended but not required; we will train
