Job summary

A leading agricultural company in Eden, Idaho seeks an Agronomic Production Manager to oversee all stages of seed production and agronomic practices. The role includes managing relationships with seed producers, assisting in budget development, and ensuring quality standards are met in seed production. Candidates should have a BS in Agriculture or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. This is a permanent position and offers hybrid work opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS Agriculture related degree or minimum of 10 years of experience in vegetable seed production.
• Strong understanding of regional crop production practices.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Ability to operate a Windows‑based computer system.

Agronomic Production Manager

Location: Eden, Idaho, USA

Contract type: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Responsible and knowledgeable of all stages of seed production and the associated agronomic practices.
• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with area seed producers.
• Contract seed crops with area growers to meet company release quantity and quality.
• Work with Parent Seed Manager to produce the quantity and quality of Foundation and Stock seed released for open field isolations.
• Assist in the development of the operating budget.
• Assist the grower with crop management, protection, and quality issues.
• Assist and support field production functions, genetic maintenance, including shipping and receiving when applicable.
• Complete all necessary applications and reports and submit to the Idaho Department of Agriculture and respective counties (i.e.: phytosanitary applications).
• Regularly visit production sites and implement production technologies ensuring the producers deliver the contracted quantity and quality of seed.
• Work with the Parent Seed Manager and the Parent Seed Production Rep to help supervise the planting, reaming, and harvesting of the species involved for open field isolations as requested.
