Job summary

The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce seeks an experienced grants administrator to plan, coordinate, and manage agricultural grant programs and related cost‑share initiatives. You will oversee grant applications, evaluations, awards, reimbursements, monitoring, and reporting to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience in agricultural programs.
• Knowledge of grant administration procedures, including application review, award processes, financial management, monitoring, reporting, and grant closeout.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours in connection with department events.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and administer agricultural grant and cost-share programs.
• Oversee grant applications, evaluation, award, reimbursement, monitoring, and reporting processes.
• Maintain accurate financial and program records for accountability and compliance.
• Develop outreach to promote grant opportunities and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Provide support for international trade initiatives and export promotion activities.
• Represent the department at events such as field days, trade shows, and conferences.
• Assist with planning agency activities for events like Genuine MS and Dixie National events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
