Job summary

MacDon Industries Ltd. is seeking a Test Technician to join an international team developing agricultural prototype machinery.

The role focuses on field and lab tests over an 8-month term starting May 2027, with exposure to hands-on problem solving and data-driven decisions. Responsibilities include coordinating field testing, validating prototypes, and compiling thorough reports for engineering decisions while collaborating with Design Engineers and shop staff.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in (or graduated from) University Engineering or College Engineering Technology program.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to travel for extended periods and work with field data.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field testing activities of prototype machines with the Test Department leadership
• Support verification and validation of prototype machines with leadership
• Use project management software to compile information and prepare reports for engineering decisions
• Prepare machines and equipment/tools for testing with Engineering Shop and Test Department
• Coordinate with Design Engineers on performance of systems and processes
• Observe test machines in field and lab; collect data and discuss observations
• Design and fabricate testing jigs and apparatuses to replicate field conditions
• Analyze data and present test reports with Test Leaders
• Perform other duties as assigned
