The State of North Carolina - Agriculture & Consumer Services seeks an Agricultural Technician II to join the Horticultural Crops Research Station. You will perform routine field and greenhouse tasks, help prepare research plots, and support crop cultivation, spraying, and harvesting activities.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with at least one year in crop/animal care or lab work, plus a valid driver’s license and the ability to handle physical work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

  • High school or GED plus one year of experience in care/management of animals or crops, or lab experience, or an equivalent combo of education and experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine agricultural and grounds maintenance activities.
  • Assist with layout and preparation of research plots.
  • Plant, cultivate, maintain crops, apply sprays, and harvest as needed.
  • Operate, maintain, and service farm equipment and machinery.
  • Support station operations and daily tasks as assigned.
