Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking an Agricultural Regulatory Specialist I to join the Department of Agriculture. The role supports the Office for Consumer and Environmental Protection, Division of Environmental Services, performing basic weed and pest inspections and related environmental duties.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience, training, or skills: NONE
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Experience in agriculture, inspection, quality control, regulatory, chemical application or related field can substitute for education.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and any required licensure or credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic inspections including weed identification for nuisance weed program using state/federal criteria.
  • Performs spraying services for Noxious Weed Spraying Program with commercial sprayer and approved chemicals.
  • Assists agribusinesses with chemical container collection and recycling per state/federal requirements.
  • Completes operational reports for pest programs and maintains spraying equipment and vehicles.
