Job summary

H2ajobs in Oregon seeks reliable agricultural laborers to support nursery operations, including harvesting and planting field and container stock, and general care of plants. You will receive training on tractors, RTVs, forklifts and related equipment to assist daily farm activities.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in varied temperatures, and perform repetitive tasks. Employer-provided housing, meals, and some transportation support are available.

Qualifications

• Three months of agriculture equipment experience.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Work may occur in extreme temperatures (below freezing to above 100°F).

Responsibilities

• Harvest field and container grown nursery stock.
• Plant field and container grown nursery stock.

• Perform other farm duties such as driving farm equipment and routine cleaning.

NOT INCLUDED HEREIN OR WORK IN AREAS NOT ASSIGNED WITHOUT THE SPECIFIC AUTHORIZATION OF THE MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

HARVEST OF FIELD AND CONTAINER GROWN NURSERY STOCK:

1.MAY BE TRAINED TO OPERATE TRACTORS, RTV’S, FORKLIFTS AND OTHER FIELD DIGGING AND POTTING EQUIPMENT.

PLANTING OF FIELD AND CONTAINER GROWN NURSERY STOCK:

1.MAY BE TRAINED TO OPERATE TRACTORS, RTV’S, FORKLIFTS, OR OTHER FIELD OR CONTAINER PLANTING EQUIPMENT.

CULTURE OF FIELD AND CONTAINER GROWN NURSERY STOCK PLANTS:

1.MAY BE TRAINED TO OPERATE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.

2.WORKERS MAY BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM OTHER FARM DUTIES, SUCH AS DRIVE FARM EQUIPMENT ON FARM, PEFORM GENERAL CLEANING AND OPERATING MACHINERY NECESSARY FOR FARM OPERATIONS

THE EMPLOYER ATTESTS THAT ALL WORKERS WILL BE PROPERLY TRAINED IN THE WORKERPROTECTIONS STANDARD (WPS)BY QUALIFIED WPS TRAINERS WHO HAVE COMPLETED AN EPA-APPROVED TRAIN-THE- TRAINER COURSE PURSUANT TO THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The Employer will furnish cooking facilities with working appliances, hot water, a place to prepare food at no cost to employees occupying employer-provided housing. Employees will purchase their own food and prepare their own meals. All breaks and lunches will be subject to local, state, and federal regulations

Transport: Inbound:

For the Workers who complete 50 percent of the work contract, the Employer will either provide transportation and subsistence during transportation, or reimburse the reasonable cost incurred by the Worker for transportation and subsistence during transportation from the place from which the Worker departed to the employer’s place of employment. In order to comply with the FLSA, the Employer will advance this payment prior to the first paycheck.

Experience wanted: 3 months

B.2 Three months of AGRICULTURE EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE.

4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 75lbs.

4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheelbarrows, , etc.

4i) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time

4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over

4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example, operating a commodity truckand a loader etc.
