H2ajobs is seeking seasonal farm labor to plant, weed, spray, and harvest crops. Responsibilities include operating tractors and various farm implements, loading/unloading materials, and recording agricultural data. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and lift up to 75 lbs.

A valid driver’s license is required. Housing, meals, and transportation assistance are provided by the employer as described.

Job description

Our operation includes planting and harvesting row crop. It is seasonal because we begin tillage around February and planting around March. We then monitor the crops and take care of them until Harvest season takes place. Once the crop is in, we then have a small break until it is time to repeat. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products, irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and closing full containers, walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, record agricultural data, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration),cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will offer free transportation to town for personal services (i.e. banking, groceries) at least once per week for non range workers.

Transport: The employer will pay the worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment (inbound/outbound). The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
