Job summary

H2ajobs seeks workers to operate and tend farm equipment in demanding agricultural tasks. You will drive, irrigate, harvest, and assist planting across crops, with hands-on maintenance and safety checks. Housing and meals are provided, and transport arrangements are available.

Employment requires proximity to farm areas and basic farm-operations experience. Applicants with 3 months verifiable experience in farming are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Irrigate soil using portable pipes or ditch systems and maintain ditches or pumps.
• Assist in harvest and planting tasks across crops, driving a truck or tractor.
• Fix leaks in farm fields and service irrigation systems.

Job description

Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, trucks and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Drive trucks and vans to haul crops, supplies, and farm equipment tools. Irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps. Assist in onion, chile, alfalfa, and sudan harvest and planting, driving a truck or tractor, haul pecans, hay and onions. Fixing leaks at farm fields, working on irrigation system, hoeing weeds pre/during/after harvest for onions, chile & picking chile during season, cutting onion tops, servicing equipment, driving tractor. Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to haul tools, supplies, or crops. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a driver’s license.

Must report to farm owner and/or farm supervisor.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: A free fully stocked kitchen with appliances is available, the farmer will transport the workers to the store and bank weekly for all of their grocery needs. Workers will prepare their own food.

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound, and from the place of employment. Employee is responsible for providing receipts of travel to the consulate for the reimbursement.
