Fort Valley State University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Research Assistant position in Agricultural Electronic Engineering Technology (EET). The role supports development of sensing systems, automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition for precision agriculture and greenhouse automation.

The successful candidate will assist faculty researchers with design, assembly, testing and deployment of electronic systems used in agricultural robotics and environmental monitoring,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

Assist design, assembly, and testing of electronic systems for agricultural research.
Support embedded systems development and sensor networks for monitoring and automation.
Develop hardware, including soil sensors, climate monitoring, and automated irrigation controls.
Assist in data collection, logging, and analysis from environmental sensors.
Maintain lab equipment and ensure safety and compliance with procedures.
Collaborate with faculty and engineers on interdisciplinary projects.
Prepare materials for workshops, extension programming, and demonstrations.
