Job summary

Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance seeks a Business Development Coordinator – Programming to advance agricultural and small-business initiatives in the region. The role partners with local farms, schools, libraries and extension services to deliver workshops, tours and grant-funded programs.

The position requires coordination experience, a related degree, and a valid driver’s license, with a salary between $40k and $45k depending on experience and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, business administration, economic development, marketing, community development, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience coordinating educational programs, workshops, or community initiatives.
• Experience in agriculture, agribusiness marketing, or Extension partnerships.
• Grant research, writing, or program administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate agricultural and small-business programs, workshops, and trainings—including Campbell Connects (semi-annual) and Start Small Campbell (2x/year).
• Facilitate outreach for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs, farmers markets, food hubs, and agribusiness marketing initiatives.
• Build relationships with local farmers and agribusinesses to inform programming needs.
• Coordinate farm tours, business networking events, and Business/Agriculture Appreciation activities.
• Research and apply for agriculture-focused grants; administer awarded agriculture grant programs.
• Collaborate closely with Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) on programming and resource sharing.
• Support community agriculture initiatives in partnership with schools, libraries, Master Gardeners, Farm Bureau, and other local organizations.
• Assist with marketing agritourism assets, local food programs, and agricultural businesses.
