Responsibilities

  • Measure, weigh, and package agricultural products (seed, feed, fertilizer, and similar goods) into small retail-ready quantities according to established procedures
  • Accurately label packaged products with product name, weight, lot/batch number, and any required regulatory or safety information
  • Operate packaging equipment such as scales, bag sealers, and labeling machines safely and correctly
  • Inspect raw product for quality, contamination, or damage prior to packaging and report any issues to a supervisor
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts of bulk and packaged product, including recording quantities packaged each shift
  • Keep the packaging area clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards
  • Stack, palletize, and stage packaged product for transfer to the sales floor or warehouse storage
  • Follow all safety procedures related to equipment operation, lifting, and handling of agricultural chemicals or treated seed, where applicable
  • Assist with loading and unloading of bulk product deliveries as needed
  • Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding low stock, equipment issues, or packaging material shortages
  • Support other feedmill or seed house operations during slower packaging periods and other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

This is an agricultural manufacturing and production environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials. There will be exposure to dust, machinery, noise, and varying temperatures depending on facility operations.
