Job Description/Responsibilities

Buffalo Trace Distillery is seeking applicants for the position of Aging Warehouse Technician, shift production role, with a starting salary of $27.10 per hour.

We seek dependable and motivated individuals to join our team in the Barrel Warehouse, where responsibilities include maintaining, checking, and transferring aging barrels and spirits efficiently and accurately. The role involves operating safely and effectively to help produce some of the highest quality bourbon in the world.

The position requires physical capability to perform tasks such as:

  • Rolling 500 lb barrels
  • Lifting 50 lbs regularly and 65 lbs occasionally from floor to shoulder height, using equipment or team assistance when necessary
  • Climbing a minimum of nine flights of stairs
  • Standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and walking
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Maintaining good balance on uneven surfaces
  • Visual and auditory acuity
  • Fitting into small spaces (ricks)
  • Rolling barrels for entry or withdrawal from the warehouse
  • Reviewing reports for accuracy
  • Checking barrels for leaks and following proper procedures
  • Using warehouse equipment such as escalators, elevators, grasshoppers, rickers, and low-raters
  • Driving company vehicles, requiring DOT physical
  • Operating hand tools like crowbars and hammers
  • Working at heights and in teams with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting, basic math, and sanitation duties
Qualifications/Requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Proven safe work history with at least one year of experience
  • Flexible shift availability, including weekends and overtime
  • DOT recertification (site-specific)
  • Teamwork attitude and effective communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English related to job tasks
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Successful DOT physical
