Job Description/Responsibilities

Buffalo Trace Distillery is currently seeking applicants for Aging Warehouse Technician, shift production employment, with a starting salary of $27.10 per hour.

We are looking for dependable and motivated people to join the outstanding team that produces some of the highest quality products in the world working in the Barrel Warehouse. Work may include maintaining, checking, and transferring aging warehouse barrels and spirits efficiently and accurately. Operate in a safe and timely manner to ensure the distillery continues to produce, consistently, the best-tasting bourbon in the world.

Be able to physically perform all aspects of the position, including but not limited to:

  • Rolling 500 lb barrels
  • Lifting 50 lbs regularly and 65 lbs occasionally from floor to shoulder height, using proper equipment or team assistance when necessary
  • Climbing a minimum of nine (9) flights of stairs in succession
  • Standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and walking continuously
  • Working outside in various weather conditions and in areas that are not temperature-controlled
  • Maintaining good balance on uneven surfaces
  • Having acceptable (or corrected) visual acuity and depth perception
  • Having acceptable (or corrected) hearing
  • Fitting into small spaces (ricks)
  • Rolling barrels for entry into the warehouse or withdrawal for processing
  • Reviewing daily reports for accuracy in barrel entry and withdrawal
  • Checking barrels for leaks and following proper procedures to prevent liquid loss
  • Manoeuvring barrels in ricks alone due to space limitations
  • Operating warehouse equipment such as escalators, elevators, grasshoppers, rickers, and low-raters
  • Driving company-owned vehicles, including passing a DOT physical
  • Using hand tools like crowbars and hammers effectively
  • Working at heights or in high areas without fear
  • Working in a team environment with a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Applying problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Performing basic math functions
  • Maintaining a clean, organized work area
  • Following safety protocols, reporting risks, near misses, or injuries immediately
  • Understanding GMPs, safety, and quality standards, and reacting effectively to issues
Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proven stable, safe work history with excellent attendance; at least one year of work experience
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (1st shift), including weekends and overtime
  • DOT recertification (site-specific)
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English related to job tasks
  • Effective communication skills and ability to develop rapport with stakeholders
  • Good attendance and safety records
  • Successful DOT physical
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
Salary Range

Minimum: USD $24.96 per hour
