Job summary

The Department for the Aging seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented Program Officer to support the Bureau of Community Services, Older Adult Centers Division. You will manage caseloads, communicate program status, and ensure compliance with contracts and standards.

Responsibilities include on-site assessments, policy interpretation, and preparing written reports with recommendations. Travel within NYC may be required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus three years of full-time professional experience in social services, community relations, public administration, contract management, or social research/planning.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted with substitutions and one year of required experience.
• For Assignment Level II, one additional year of experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned caseload of older adult programs and be the primary liaison with the Department.
• Provide written and verbal information on community-based programs using required reporting tools.
• Monitor on-site assessments to ensure compliance with standards and contracts.
• Interpret agency policy and provide technical assistance to aging service providers on site.
• Identify program strengths/weaknesses, recommend improvements, and prepare reports.
