Pay: $45,487.01 per year

Job Description
  • Req#: 4873787. This is a Care Manager 3 position within the Area Agency on Aging, assigned to the Protective Services Unit within the Social Services Department.
  • Perform tasks as an Aging Protective Services Investigator, including:
  • Recording Reports of Need for Protective Services, determining category and priority of need.
  • Investigating allegations of abuse within regulatory time frames.
  • Conducting face-to-face visits with older adults.
  • Interviewing collateral contacts and collecting evidence.
  • Collaborating with other agencies to resolve cases.
  • Determining case outcomes as substantiated or unsubstantiated.
  • Ensuring safety by arranging services, medical interventions, legal actions, and placements.
  • Assisting with entitlement programs applications.
  • Using legal intervention and testifying in court when necessary.
  • Conducting reassessments and case closures.
  • Referring cases to other AAA services.
  • Documenting case activities in Well-Sky database.
  • Providing protective services phone coverage on a rotating basis and volunteering for after-hours crisis coverage.
  • Completing required reports and attending relevant trainings and meetings.
  • Interpreting programs and regulations to individuals and agencies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and client conditions requiring court intervention.
  • Knowledge of social casework principles, community support services, and issues affecting older adults.
  • Skill in developing plans for vulnerable seniors.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships, organize work, maintain confidentiality, and communicate clearly.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum experience and training:

  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or equivalent experience, or
  • One and a half years in human services, law enforcement, or nursing with a bachelor's degree, or
  • Six months of relevant experience with additional training.

Must be a Pennsylvania resident and meet other civil service criteria.
