Job summary

VTG Defense in Chantilly, VA is seeking an Agile System Engineer III to provide technical leadership across Agile teams, ensuring mission alignment, architectural integrity, and delivery discipline.

You will lead end-to-end systems engineering activities, define requirements, guide backlog decomposition, and interface with government stakeholders, ensuring interface consistency and integration readiness. You will mentor engineers and support reviews and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Poly required.
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end systems engineering activities within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Define and manage system level requirements, dependencies, and technical risks.
• Guide decomposition of complex mission needs into scalable Agile backlogs.
• Serve as primary systems engineering interface to government stakeholders and technical leadership.
• Ensure architectural alignment, interface consistency, and integration readiness.
• Oversee requirements traceability, verification strategy, and system acceptance.
• Mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers.
• Support program reviews, technical roadmaps, and long-range planning.
