Job summary

The Office of Financial Management (OFM) in Washington State is hiring a Business Analyst to shape how state government delivers business and technology solutions. You’ll partner with business leaders, SMEs, and IT teams to understand complex needs and define objectives for enterprise applications and processes.

You will lead project discovery, support Agile delivery, facilitate workshops, and translate business needs into actionable requirements.

Qualifications

• Analyzing business processes, system functionality, and data to assess impacts across multiple applications and stakeholders.
• Eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documents.
• Translating business needs into technical requirements and communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Creating and maintaining user documentation and delivering system training for enterprise applications.
• Experience with Agile, SDLC, and hybrid delivery approaches.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and objectives for enterprise systems.
• Identify dependencies across systems and processes, including external ones, to meet objectives.
• Identify process improvements, risks, and future needs in collaboration with IT teams.
• Communicate business needs and nuances clearly to development teams to guide design.
• Lead meetings, workshops, and agile ceremonies as SME to support enterprise projects across programs.
• Assist with planning, prioritizing, and coordinating work for primary business areas and applications.
