Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an Agile Data Product Owner for a contingent role in Charlotte, NC. Hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) with a 12-month initial assignment and a pay rate of $56–$60 per hour.

The role focuses on translating strategic priorities into a well-managed data product backlog, driving data sourcing, ingestion, conformance, and governance, while coordinating with governance, risk, compliance, and analytics teams to deliver trusted data capabilities.

Qualifications

• Agile product ownership experience with backlog ownership and prioritization.
• Data product management or data management experience.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technology, governance, risk, and compliance teams.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in regulated environments with governance, risk, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog and define/refine features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product priorities.
• Translate business requirements into data product capabilities including data sourcing, ingestion, conformance, semantic modeling, reporting, metadata, lineage, quality, and governance.
• Collaborate with delivery teams in daily standups, sprint planning/reviews, PI planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Coordinate with product managers, business stakeholders, technology, data governance, risk/compliance, and analytics teams to manage priorities and expectations.
• Partner with governance, risk, compliance, and technology teams to align with regulatory requirements and control frameworks.
