Job summary

P&K Stone LLC in Texas is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform hourly aggregate testing and field sampling in a fast-paced quarry environment.

You will document results, help adjust plant settings, and ensure compliance with state specs and internal standards. The role emphasizes safety, traceability, and clear communication with plant personnel.

This hands-on position includes lifting and moving heavy samples (50+ pounds) and working in varied outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct hourly testing of aggregate materials to ensure compliance with quality, gradation, and size specifications.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including scales, shakers, ovens, and Mary Ann sieves.
• Skill in safely collecting field samples from quarry sites, stockpiles, and production areas.
• Competence in accurately recording, entering, and reporting test results using spreadsheets, Word documents, and email.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers, production staff, and management regarding quality issues or material adjustments.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory and workstation.
• Effective time management and prioritization to meet testing schedules and production demands.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly testing of aggregates (gradation, moisture, specific gravity).
• Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment (shakers, ovens, scales, Mary Ann sieves).
• Collect representative samples from quarry faces, stockpiles, and production sites.
• Document test results in spreadsheets and databases; generate quality reports.
