Job summary

Gabriel Group is seeking a full-time agglomeration operator in Martinsburg, WV. You will supervise the agglomeration line, train operators on machine use and safety, and ensure consistent production of PET flakes meeting quality standards.

Responsibilities include setting up the machine, loading materials, monitoring performance, performing quality checks, and maintaining documentation. You will collaborate with the team to optimize efficiency and comply with safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be at least a primary school graduate.
  • Must be successful in human relations.
  • Must be a problem solver and open to suggestions.
  • Should follow technological and other developments, train their subordinates and be instructive.
  • Must be able to carry out the organization successfully and fluently
  • Should be able to evaluate the workflow as a whole and establish coordination and balance between various functions.
  • Must be able to work systematically and programmatically.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of agglomeration machines and related equipment to ensure efficient production of regrind materials that meet quality standards.
  • Manage and guide the agglomeration team, providing training on machine operation, safety protocols, and quality control to ensure consistent performance.
  • Track the input and output of recycled materials, maintain accurate records, and provide reports on production efficiency, material utilization, colour sorting and any operational challenges.
  • Set up and prepare the agglomeration machine for daily operations, ensuring all parameters are configured correctly for flake production.
  • Load raw materials into the agglomeration machine, ensuring proper feeding to maintain consistent production.
  • Monitor machine performance during production to detect and resolve any deviations or issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on flakes to ensure they meet production standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement to keep the machine in optimal condition.
  • Identify and address minor machine malfunctions; elevate significant issues to the maintenance team.
  • Adjust machine settings as needed to accommodate different product specifications or resolve process issues.
  • Ensure proper cooling and handling of PET flakes to prevent warping or deformation after production.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain smooth workflow and achieve production targets.
  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Monitor the recycling of scrap materials, ensuring compliance with company policies on material usage and mixing.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to minimize risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of the machine to identify wear or potential issues before they escalates.
  • Assist in training new operators on machine usage, safety protocols, and production processes.
  • Optimize material utilization to minimize waste and enhance production efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and product quality.
  • Ensure that all required documentation, such as shift logs and production reports, is completed accurately and on time.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment related to the agglomeration process, such as cooling or conveying systems.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors on machine performance, material quality, and production efficiency for process improvements.
  • Ensure that the colours entering the machine do not mix, to separate the colours according to the rules.
  • Know their own duties in emergency procedures, fire prevention plan, and act in accordance with the manuals, procedures, standards, instructions and plans related to BRC-IOP defined as described on booklets, brochures, etc. that has been given or will be given.
  • Ensuring the quality of the flakes, ensuring the correct barcoding of these products, weighing the products and following the correct transfer to the SAP system.
